If the stain resembles a chalk like residue then you should remove it with an efflorescence remover. It is used on colored concrete and is very effective. Hard water deposits can quickly make your bathtub look nasty and unclean. Wet the surface lightly and scrub some acid mix into it with a deck brush.

Repeat several times and your stain may just disappear. Don t rub the surface it will drive the stain further into the concrete. Let it sit on the hard water stain for 15 to 20 minutes then scrub and rinse it off. If this doesn t work try rubbing some dishwashing liquid into the spot with a toothbrush then rinsing off.

Put on protective rubber gloves and then combine 1 pound of trisodium phosphate with 5 gallons of warm water. It s best to wear rubber gloves. Using the toilet brush swish the solution around the bowl to ensure that it covers the entire bowl including above the water line. Another way to remove hard water marks is with trisodium phosphate otherwise known as tsp which is recommended for use on decorative or stamped concrete.

Clean the area with water. In the morning scrub the stains away. Wait and let the solution fizz. When the activity dies down wash the area immediately with water so that the residue doesn t dry beforehand.

Take a coarse brush and clean the stain with the solution applied on it. Use a nylon brush to scrub it away. It will probably take more than 1 time to completely remove all the hard water stains on the concrete. You should see the acid mix fizz.

Let the vinegar and baking soda solution stand overnight. In most cases a mildly acidic cleaner combined with some scrubbing can remove these stains without etching concrete. Next work it into the concrete stain using a stiff broom or brush. If any fertilizers are in the water they can also stain the concrete.

Soak up as much as possible with paper towels. If you have stains on paving stones or a concrete patio sometimes the solution is simple. Apply a second layer of white vinegar and scrub the stain with a stiff bristled scrubbing brush vigorously for at least two minutes. If you don t want to use a cleaning solution like tsp you can try substituting white vinegar or lemon juice.

Often you can remove a brand new stain with only household cleaner and water.
