Deburr the pipe with a deburring tool. The hot and cold water supply under the sink is turned off at the valves. Turn off the next valve up the line which may be the main water supply valve. Ignoring minor leaks can waste up to three gallons of water every day and can also lead to permanent water stains and rot under your sink.

Under sink shutoff valves also called fixture shutoffs or stop valves allow you to turn off the water to the sink or other fixture without having to use the home s main shutoff. Open the cold water handle of the kitchen faucet and let the water drain out if you re replacing the cold valve. Look for two sets of valves that have oval shapes. Typically there are two shut off valves installed underneath the kitchen sink.
